Does the library have my textbook?

Answer

Most academic libraries do not purchase textbooks. However, free access to the required textbooks for most 100-level and some 200-level courses are available for checkout at the library.  You can search for one by clicking on the  “Reserves” tab from the Rider University Library homepage.  From there, you may search for a textbook by course, instructor, or title.

Alternatively, a list of available textbooks can be found by visiting http://guides.rider.edu/textbooks.

Textbooks may be signed out in two-hour increments for use within the Library. Students must present their Rider ID cards to a staff member at the circulation desk. The textbooks may not be taken from the library.

  1. There should be at the very least ONE copy of EVERY SINGLE TEXTBOOK used for
curriculum on reserve in the library for student use. Even the playing field and let socio-economically disadvantaged students have a voice - we need more study resources. Have a special study area where reserved textbooks are used so they don’t grow “feet,” and walk out the door. Please, help us do better Rider.
