Noise

Answer

Noise should not disturb others. Noise is to be expected at library service points (e.g., Research Assistance and Circulation desks) but should be kept within reason. Designated Quiet Areas are intended to be silent areas with no conversation, where phones and other electronics should be silenced. Headphones should be used when watching videos, listening to music, or engaging in other multimedia endeavors in common spaces, and sound must be inaudible to others. Persons talking loudly or engaging in behavior disturbing to other users may be asked to leave the Libraries or be reported to Public Safety if unresponsive to librarian and staff requests to refrain from the behavior.
