Fines and Fees
Answer
All library users are held responsible for the cost of any lost or damaged materials, and are subject to fines for the late return of library books and other materials. Overdue fine amounts are determined by item type and accrue to a maximum of $25 per overdue item. Replacement fees for lost or damaged items are determined by item type and accrue to a maximum of $135 per item. Unpaid fines of $25 or more will result in the suspension of all borrowing privileges for most patrons until addressed. Users that have unpaid fines of $25 or more, and are current students or alumni, will have a hold placed on their University record, which restricts access to transcripts and/or diplomas until addressed by the individual. No overdue fines are charged to faculty, administration, and staff. However, borrowing privileges may be suspended in the case of longstanding overdue items or numerous lost items.
