Government Documents

Answer

As an electronic-only, selective federal depository library, University Library is obligated to make those selected documents available to primary users and the general public of the Congressional district and to provide assistance in their use. This is achieved through the public’s access to the Library’s catalog, general collections, electronic resources, and reference services. Federal documents are selected to meet the needs of both the Rider community and the Congressional district. Electronic and print documents received through the Federal Depository Library Program must be cataloged and retained for at least five years, unless the material is superseded more frequently. The Government Documents librarian reviews the GPO lists for appropriate additions and deletions. Government websites which are substitutions for or additions to major government publications (eg. Vital Statistics, labor data, government serials) will be cataloged.
