Archives and Special Collections Access

Archival access generally is defined as the right or authority to obtain information from or perform research using archival materials. Access to particular items may be restricted for content, preservation, or security reasons. Various collections will have different levels of access. Rider University Archives and Special Collections serve members of the Rider community and others interested in the collection.

a. Materials in the archives and special collections area (Riderana for Moore Library materials and Westminster Archives for Talbott Music Library) are available for use in designated collection space and do not circulate. b. User access to the archives and special collections is by appointment only. For scheduling appointments, email reference@rider.edu. c. First time users of University Library’s Archives and Special Collections must register and be able to present a photo ID. d. Photocopies may be made at the discretion and with the permission of the University Archivist or University Library’s chairperson.
