Permission to Use Archive Materials Outside Libraries

At times researchers request permission to use Rider University’s archive material in published material, presentations, displays, and other publicly accessible media and situations. When permitting material to be used, the Archivist or University Library’s Chairperson, should fill out the following forms under the appropriate guidelines. a. For material to be included in published formats such as books, periodicals, or videos: i. There will be no time limit on the use of the material ii. Rider University Library’s Archives should be noted as the source of the material by using the acknowledgement: “name of material”: courtesy of Rider University Library’s Archives.

b. For material to be used in presentations or displays: i. Use of the material should be limited to the dates of the presentation or display unless other dates are agreed to. ii. Rider University Library's Archives should be noted as the source of the material by using the acknowledgement: “name of material”: courtesy of Rider University Library’s Archives.

c. To use archive material on non-Rider print or digital platforms: i. Time limits for use of the material should be clearly defined. Unlimited use of the material should be avoided. ii. Rider University Library's Archives should be noted as the source of the material by using the acknowledgement: “name of material”: courtesy of Rider University Library’s Archives.
